Photo Art Direction & Design

I still remember my first Amazon Electronics Gift Guide photo art direction back in 2015. Because of my poor English, it seemed like a big challenge to do the art direction for five product photo shoots. Fast-forward five years to the Amazon Holiday Gift Guide for 2019, and I was in charge of the photo art direction for 98 unique lifestyle shots and a 160-page photo deck. Though it was a lot of work, I was grateful to be trusted with both the Electronics and Home Holiday Gift Guides. I was even more grateful to be able to collaborate with so many talented people. The theme this year was “Smiling together,” so our images captured the holiday lifestyle of many people interacting with key products and each other. I also planned several gif animations to show how some of the products function. Moreover, because we were creating the campaign for U.S., Canada and Mexican markets, the images show a lot of diversity. Because I incorporated Amazon's global style color and design elements, these primary gift guides helped create a consistent shopping experience across all Amazon Holiday Gift Guides.
