PHOTO ART DIRECTION & DESIGN
I was put in charge of creating the photo art direction and design for the 2019 Amazon Mother’s Day Home Gift Guide. In addition to collaborating with a UX designer on wireframes, I lead the photo art direction based on the color and design elements of the global style guide. To compliment the global style guide, I added accents to props in each photograph (flower petals, gift wrap, wall art, craft patterns, etc.). The pre-production deck I made included direction on lighting, sets, colors, models, and prop style elements. I also created detailed sketches for each product shot. Because the Home Gift Guide included other product categories, such as Electronics, Beauty, Pets, and Office, it became one of the most important retail gift guides of the season. Our custom photography and graphics were used across Amazon sites in the U.S and Canadian markets. I felt my art direction was successful at both reflecting the global design style and creating a more engaging customer shopping experience.
